Here we are Wednesday morning sitting in Dutton's Parlour having a nice lunch and checking email using the free internet access. There is an ethernet connection at the four booths in the front of the ice cream and coffee bar. What a find! I have learned to ask the locals about free internet access. Although I have used the Wi-Fi Finder website, they don't have everything.
We camped at Eckleson, ND at Praire Haven Campground right at Exit 276 off of I-94. What a peaceful place. It is a small family owned operation with grassy and shaded sites. The mosquitos were out but the owners erected a screen room with table and chairs by the small lake for campers to enjoy the breeze and view. We enjoyed the long evening reading in the screen room. It was still light at 9:30 PM on the longest day of the year. Even though the freeway was close by, the screen of tall trees hide the vehicles and the sound of the trucks.
We had our morning coffee with the owners in the small cafe area. The son ran the restaurant but decided he needed full-time work with more income so that is closed. The bathhouse was the cleanest I have ever encountered in all my camping days. The owner even had the sink counter decorated with ceramic ducks!
We will end our trip in another hour at Harmony Farms near Enderlin, ND.
