We have been driving around Enderlin, Sheldon and Lisbon ND for several days and notice that we can drive for 15 minutes without seeing another vehicle. If we do see a vehicle it will probably be a pickup truck which passes if they are on the same side of the road. Hwy 46 runs east to west south of Interstate 94. It is known as the straightest road in the country. There actually are a few curves but when seen on a map, the line is straight. It sure makes driving easy. I travel about 65 on these two lane roads but that is not fast enough even for the tanker trucks. They pass going 70 or above. I have to learn to do the finger wave here, as that is a sign of being friendly.
Many of the fields are wet due to days of rain and some farmers never got the crop in because of the wet spring. This weekend we go to a rodeo and the Sheldon community picnic. We managed to go through a tank of gas in 2 days traveling between small towns as we investigate the country side.
