Old Haunts in Minnesota

After a wonderful stay in our rented farmhouse, we head to Minnesota to visit family. We camped one night at the American Legion Campground in Detroit Lakes, just down the street from where we had a lake cabin for a few years. Although it was warm during the day, a breeze off the lake kept it comfortable enough for sleeping without the air conditioner going. The camp ground is right across the street from the city one-mile long sugar sand beach. Restaurants are within walking distance from the campground, not bad for $17. We had breakfast at the Main Street Restaurant which is full of locals and tourists. Detroit Lakes has an active downtown with very few empty storefront even with the big Wal-Mart on the edge of town. I get to practice my parallel parking.
